Over 100 kilometers of the Subei Canal's waterways have been equipped with intelligent drone inspections.
Recently, the 107-kilometer drone intelligent inspection system in the jurisdiction of the Suqian Navigation Center in Jiangsu has been officially put into use, marking a phased achievement in the simultaneous advancement of drone inspection trials in the Yangzhou and Suqian sections of the Northern Jiangsu Canal.
To address issues such as low efficiency, numerous blind spots, and high costs in traditional vehicle and vessel inspections, the Northern Jiangsu Navigation Administration selected the Yangzhou Navigation Center and Suqian Navigation Center as pilot sites. The trials focus on scenarios such as channel facility inspections, auxiliary law enforcement supervision, and monitoring of emergency incidents. Among them, the Suqian Navigation Center's jurisdiction has completed the construction of a three-dimensional model of the entire channel, deployed four drone airports, and simultaneously built a dedicated flight control platform for the Suqian section of the Northern Jiangsu Canal, establishing an intelligent inspection system featuring "autonomous drone patrols + AI intelligent analysis + platform closed-loop management."
The system enables multi-dimensional intelligent inspection and control. In facility inspections, it can intelligently identify hazards such as damaged or collapsed embankments and illegal stacking of materials along the shore. In navigation monitoring, it can detect ships illegally docked by comparing vessel targets with channel boundaries. In construction management, it can monitor and collect evidence of unauthorized operations along the channel. For auxiliary law enforcement, it can automatically track illegal activities discovered during inspections and obtain key information through photos and videos.
Currently, the Yangzhou section has also completed preliminary deployments and will soon begin trial operations. Next, the Northern Jiangsu Navigation Administration will gradually achieve normalization, intelligence, and standardization of drone inspections.
