Sichuan Provincial Navigation and Maritime Center Promotes the Shift of Heavy Cargo Transport from Road to Water
To continuously optimize the business environment, streamline logistics and transportation chains, and help enterprises reduce costs and improve efficiency, the Sichuan Provincial Navigation and Maritime Center recently collaborated with the Provincial Government Affairs Center to organize two local shipping companies to visit the Operation Support Company of PetroChina Sichuan Petroleum Drilling Engineering Co., Ltd. They conducted "door-to-door, face-to-face" precise supply-demand matching services to effectively address the challenges of transporting oversized goods for enterprises.
During the matching activity, the staff visited the enterprise's production and operation site to gain a detailed understanding of the full process of transporting, loading, unloading, and transferring oversized goods such as drilling rigs and derrick equipment. They directly observed the actual transportation operations of the enterprise. Subsequently, a special symposium was held between the government and the enterprise to deeply discuss the actual needs of the enterprise for transporting oversized goods and to carefully analyze issues such as high costs and restricted access in road transportation.
To address the pain points in enterprise transportation, the working group focused on promoting the layout of high-grade waterways across the province, navigation capacity, and the advantages of waterway transportation resources. They provided a detailed explanation of the special cost-reduction plan for shifting oversized transportation from road to water. They engaged in in-depth discussions on key aspects such as transportation route planning, capacity allocation, and comprehensive support. Additionally, they precisely introduced value-added logistics services to customize safe, efficient, and economical waterway transportation solutions for enterprises, guiding them to optimize their transportation structure.
Next, the Sichuan Provincial Navigation and Maritime Center will continue to deepen the regularized docking mechanism of "unblocking a river, serving the entire chain," closely focusing on enterprise needs. They will guide shipping companies to refine and improve exclusive "road-to-water" transportation plans and accelerate the implementation of these plans. By fully leveraging the comparative advantages of water transportation, such as large capacity, low cost, and high safety, they aim to continuously address bottlenecks in oversized waterway transportation services, reduce enterprise logistics and transportation costs, and provide solid waterway logistics support for the high-quality development of regional industries.
