The Hebei Maritime Safety Administration hosted the nautical unit activities of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation's themed summer camp.
Recently, the Hebei Maritime Bureau hosted the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation's "I Love Beijing Tiananmen" themed summer camp maritime unit activity in Qinhuangdao, Hebei. Over 90 young participants from Ningxia, Qinghai, and other regions boarded large tourist vessels to experience maritime activities, entered maritime colleges to engage in ship simulator operations, and felt the charm of maritime technology and the profound heritage of ocean culture.

The cruise ship set sail slowly as maritime volunteers guided the youth onto the large open-air deck of the tourist vessel. From there, they enjoyed a 360° panoramic view of Qinhuangdao city and the magnificent scenery of the century-old port, gazed at coastal landmarks such as Dove Nest and Laolongtou, observed the operations of massive cargo ships, and witnessed the bustling scenes of port shipping. Amid the sea breeze, maritime volunteers vividly explained safety precautions for boat travel, water travel, and drowning prevention awareness to the youth.

At the training grounds of Hebei Building Materials Vocational and Technical College, a team of professional maritime instructors transformed into science mentors, delivering an informative maritime science class to the youth. In the maritime simulation training room, maritime volunteers provided hands-on guidance, allowing the youth to operate ship simulation driving systems, experiencing professional operations such as ship steering, lookout, and collision avoidance, immersing themselves in the technological power of intelligent navigation. In the safety equipment experience area, the youth gathered around maritime volunteers to closely observe and learn about professional equipment such as life jackets, lifebuoys, fireproof suits, and maritime rescue signals, mastering basic self-rescue knowledge at sea and enhancing their safety awareness. Passing through the engine training workshop, the complex knowledge of ship propulsion was transformed into simple and engaging explanations by the maritime volunteers. Every youth was deeply engaged, carefully observing core equipment such as ship main engines and auxiliary engines, understanding the secrets of ship navigation power, directly experiencing the rapid development of China's shipbuilding industry, and truly feeling the hardcore charm of a major industrial power.

The ocean is boundless, and dreams are illuminated. For the youth participating in the summer camp, this exclusive maritime journey was not only a fresh extracurricular experience but also a warm act of companionship and a profound intellectual inspiration. From their initial introduction to maritime culture to their firsthand experience of sea navigation, from sensing maritime technology to appreciating the allure of the ocean, the youth broadened their horizons and gained knowledge through immersive experiences, deeply planting in their hearts a love for the ocean, maritime pursuits, and their homeland.

The youth expressed their determination to study hard and explore new knowledge, aspiring to dedicate themselves to maritime careers and protect the blue territory in the future. Moving forward, the Hebei Maritime Bureau will fully collaborate with local shipping companies and maritime education resources to deepen youth maritime science education and public welfare initiatives. Through diversified study activities and regular science services, they aim to support youth growth, sow the seeds of blue dreams, and inspire more young people to care for the blue seas and pursue their maritime aspirations, injecting youthful energy into the construction of a strong transportation and maritime nation.
