The seminar on "Tiger and the Lighthouse" and the sharing session on the century-long spirit of lighthouse guardianship were held at the Ningbo Navigation Mark Office.

On July 18, the "Light Comes from the Lighthouse, Heart Towards the Mountains and Seas—Seminar on 'Tiger Cub's Lighthouse' and Centennial Lighthouse Spirit Sharing Session," jointly organized by the Ningbo Federation of Literary and Art Circles, the East China Sea Navigation Support Center of the Ministry of Transport Ningbo Aids to Navigation Office, and the 21st Century Publishing Group, was held at the Ningbo Aids to Navigation Office. The event used the children's literature work "Tiger Cub's Lighthouse" as a medium to deeply explore the cultural heritage of East China Sea navigation support, promote the century-old lighthouse spirit, and inject cultural momentum into the construction of industry spiritual civilization.

At the event, the real-life inspirations for the characters in "Tiger Cub's Lighthouse"—Ye Jinghu, the fourth-generation lighthouse keeper of the Ye family, Ye Chaoqun, the fifth-generation lighthouse keeper, and their family member Jin Fengrong—were present to share the century-long journey of lighthouse keeping across five generations of their family. Since the late Qing Dynasty, the Ye family has been rooted on remote islands in the East China Sea, upholding the solemn vow of "As long as we are here, the light will shine." Despite material shortages and harsh conditions, they steadfastly manned the lighthouse, with some family members even sacrificing their lives to ensure the safety of the waterways. As a young lighthouse keeper in the new era, Ye Chaoqun shared his experiences of guarding the lighthouse, showcasing the development of the navigation support industry while also expressing the responsibility and commitment of the younger generation to carry on the mission and original aspirations. His sincere and heartfelt storytelling deeply moved the audience, evoking a strong sense of resonance about the power of faith in ordinary roles.

Experts and scholars from the literary community engaged in in-depth discussions on the narrative features, spiritual core, and industry communication value of the work. They unanimously agreed that "Tiger Cub's Lighthouse," based on the true stories of the Ye family's lighthouse-keeping legacy, innovatively adopts a dog's narrative perspective, blending the profound spirit of perseverance with expressions full of childlike wonder. This not only broadens the creative boundaries of contemporary maritime literature but also provides a high-quality medium for passing on navigation support culture to the next generation, bringing the stories of maritime guardians from the islands into the public eye.

During the event, a book donation ceremony was also held, with the 21st Century Publishing Group donating the "Tiger Cub's Lighthouse" book series to the Ningbo Aids to Navigation Office. These books will be used to enrich the cultural resources for employees, conduct ideological and political education for staff, and help navigation support workers gain a deeper understanding of the lighthouse spirit and navigation support culture.

It is reported that "Tiger Cub's Lighthouse," written by local Ningbo author Wu Zhouxing, was officially published in June 2026. It is a key literary creation project of the Ningbo Federation of Literary and Art Circles and has been included in the "China Good Books" recommended list for June 2026 and the second-quarter 2026 influential book list of the "China Publishing & Media Journal." The work uses gentle and warm prose to depict the daily life and heartfelt moments of lighthouse keeping on the islands, interpreting the spiritual core of perseverance and responsibility through a child's perspective, combining literary quality with practical educational significance.

A relevant official from the Ningbo Aids to Navigation Office stated that this event was not only an in-depth discussion of a literary work but also a vivid lesson in industry spirit education.
