IBI and Tanzania Jilin General Chamber of Commerce Enter Strategic Partnership; TDD Partners with MINOCK to Expand East African Electric Mobility Market
As a local Chinese business association with deep roots in Tanzania, the Tanzania Jilin General Chamber of Commerce has long been committed to strengthening communication between Chinese-funded enterprises and Tanzania’s business community. With extensive local market channels, government networks and policy resources, the Chamber possesses an in-depth understanding of Tanzania’s business environment and industry entry requirements and is well positioned to provide localized support for the implementation of cooperative projects.
As a leading listed industrial internet company in China, IBI has consistently pursued a core strategy centered on “platforms, technology and data” and actively developed its third growth curve, with the cross-border expansion of industrial belts at its core. The company has established a mature operational system and strong technological capabilities in industrial internet platform development, digital supply chain management and the global expansion of industrial belts. By leveraging their complementary strengths, the two parties will jointly build stronger industrial links between China and Tanzania and further expand into the East African market.
Previously, under the leadership and coordination of President Yu Qi, IBI completed field studies across multiple sectors in Tanzania. The studies identified six sectors—electric three-wheelers, fertilizers, cold-chain logistics, solar streetlights, real estate in Zanzibar and bonded industrial parks—as offering strong growth potential, substantial supply gaps and high dependence on imports, laying a solid foundation for future cooperation.
MINOCK GROUP LIMITED has been deeply engaged in the Tanzanian market for many years and possesses practical experience in facilities, sales networks and policy applications. It will provide operational support for the joint venture, creating a complementary upstream and downstream partnership with TDD.
As one of IBI’s core industrial internet platforms, TDD has established a comprehensive cross-border service system for the automotive equipment industry chain. As a natural extension of this industry chain, electric three-wheelers offer considerable market potential in East Africa. TDD will provide the joint venture with KD components for electric three-wheelers, technical guidance on assembly and digital operational support.
Tanzania has recently reduced its import tariff on electric vehicles from 25% to 10% and introduced a value-added tax exemption for charging equipment. The joint venture will actively apply for relevant tax incentives available in special economic zones. Together, the two parties will promote the transition toward electric mobility and the development of green transportation across East Africa.

The signing represents an important step in IBI’s continued expansion in the African market. IBI has been systematically developing its presence across Africa and has established economic and trade cooperation with South Africa, Egypt, Kenya and several other African countries.
IBI’s entry into Tanzania not only extends its strategic presence from Southern Africa to East Africa but also establishes a dual-engine model combining strategic cooperation with the implementation of joint venture projects. Taking this signing as a new starting point, the parties will fully leverage their respective strengths, jointly cultivate the Tanzanian and broader East African markets, and achieve mutually reinforcing gains in commercial value creation and industrial empowerment.
