1. IEA: Global coal consumption is expected to hit a new high in 2024 due to strong demand from Asia

Global coal consumption is expected to hit a record high this year and remain near that level until 2027 as strong demand in Asia outweighs falling demand in the United States and Europe, the International Energy Agency said on Wednesday.
