Ningbo's coastal areas have entered Level III typhoon emergency response.

The 9th typhoon of the year, "Bavi" (super typhoon), was located at 5:00 AM on July 8 at latitude 16.9°N and longitude 134.8°E, approximately 1,970 kilometers from the sea off Ningbo. Its center had a maximum wind force of level 17 and a minimum pressure of 920 hPa, moving westward at a speed of 20-25 kilometers per hour. Based on the typhoon's dynamics and development trends, the Ningbo Maritime Safety Administration decided to initiate a Level III typhoon emergency response for the coastal areas of Ningbo starting at 9:00 AM on July 8.

After the Level III typhoon emergency response was initiated, the maritime department continued to disseminate early warning and control information through VHF broadcasts, SMS platforms, and on-site patrols. On-site law enforcement forces carried out continuous inspections of docks, waterways, and sheltered waters. The Vessel Traffic Management Center strengthened traffic organization and information services, conducted "spot checks" and "call responses" for key vessels such as passenger ferries, hazardous goods ships, construction ships, and non-powered vessels, and urged ships to implement sheltering measures to avoid overcrowding at anchorages and prevent anchor dragging and collision accidents.

Relying on the independently developed "Disaster Weather Risk Prevention and Control" system, the Ningbo maritime department monitored real-time changes in key meteorological elements such as wind force and sea waves within its jurisdiction, accurately assessed risk levels, and provided scientific decision-making support for typhoon prevention efforts in the area. As of 7:00 AM on July 8, 25 coastal passenger routes in Ningbo were gradually suspended based on wind changes, with 3 routes already suspended. All 46 coastal water-related projects have been halted, with a total of 32 law enforcement vessel deployments and 831 law enforcement personnel dispatched, and 108 vessels inspected on-site.

The maritime department reminds coastal operating vessels to closely monitor weather developments and return to port in a timely manner to take shelter; sheltered vessels should strengthen duty and implement all typhoon prevention measures.
