Titanium Ore

According to customs data, China imported 289,000 tons of titanium ore in December 2022, with an average price of $398/ton, a year-on-year increase of 19.05% and a month-on-month decrease of 11.96%. The accumulated import volume of the titanium ore for the whole year of 2022 was approximately 3.4722 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 8.62%, with an import volume decrease of approximately 327,700 tons.

In December, the top three countries for titanium ore imports were Mozambique, Kenya, and the United States, accounting for 60%, 14%, and 10% of total imports respectively.

The top three countries with increased titanium ore imports for the whole year of 2022 were Mozambique, with an increase of approximately 241,700 tons. The United States, with an increase of approximately 133,300 tons, and Nigeria, with an increase of approximately 41,700 tons.

Titanium Dioxide

According to customs data, China's titanium dioxide export volume in December 2022 was about 127,000 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 5.02%, and a month-on-month increase of 18.47%. The accumulated export volume of titanium dioxide for the whole year of 2022 was about 1.4061 million tons, an increase of 7.19% compared to the same period last year, with an increased export volume of about 94,300 tons.

In December, the top three countries for titanium dioxide exports were India, Turkey, and Russia, accounting for 15%, 8%, and 6% of total exports respectively.

Within the top ten countries of titanium dioxide exports in 2022, Russia exports 41,900 tons, Belgium exports 32,900 tons, India exports 18,700 tons. South Korea, the country which ranked the third of total exports volume,have declined its exports volume compared with the same period last year.

In December 2022, China's titanium dioxide imports were about 6,900 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 55.95% and a month-on-month increase of 22.25%. The total accumulated import volume of the titanium dioxide for the whole year of 2022 was about 123,100 tons, a decrease of 35.85% compared to the same period last year, with an import volume decrease of about 68,800 tons.

The top three regions for titanium dioxide imports in December were Chinese Taiwan, Japan, and Mexico, accounting for a 46%, accounting for 71%, 16%, 9% of the total import volume respectively.

Sponge Titanium

In December 2022, China imported about 53.3 tons of sponge titanium, a year-on-year decrease of 96.91% and a month-on-month decrease of 69.41%. The accumulated imports of sponge titanium in China for the whole year of 2022 was about 11,364.4 tons, a decrease of 17.86% year-on-year, with a decrease of about 2,470.85 tons.

The top three countries for sponge titanium imports in China in 2022 were Japan, Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia, accounting for 43%, 27%, and 21% of the total import volume respectively.

In December 2022, China exported about 266.1 tons of sponge titanium, a year-on-year increase of 372.96% and a month-on-month increase of 109.82%. The accumulated exports volume of sponge titanium in China for the whole year of 2022 was about 1919.80 tons, a year-on-year increase of 128.33%, with an increase of about 1079.03 tons.

The top three regions for sponge titanium exports from China in 2022 were South Korea, Netherlands, and India, accounting for 29%, 27%, and 13% respectively.
