Analysis on the Import and Export Data of Titanium Products of April 2023

Titanium Ore

According to customs data, China imported 289,000 tons of titanium ore in April 2023, with an average price of $389.19/ton. The accumulated import volume of the titanium ore in April 2023 was approximately 1.4499 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 14.88%, with an import volume increase of approximately 187,800 tons.

In April 2023, the top three countries for titanium ore imports were Mozambique, Kenya, and Vietnam, accounting for 46%, 16%, and 10% of total imports respectively.

Titanium Dioxide

According to customs data, China's titanium dioxide import volume in April 2023 was about 5543.37 tons, showing a month-on-month increase of 18.46%, and a year-on-year decrease of 63.89%. The accumulated import volume of titanium dioxide from January to April 2023 was about 18,700 tons, an decrease of 64.14% compared to the same period last year, with an decreased export volume of about 33,500 tons.

In April 2023, the top three regions for titanium dioxide imports were Chinese Taiwan, Japan, and Germany, accounting for 33%, 17%, and 14% of total imports respectively.

In April 2023, China's titanium dioxide export volume was about 128,900 tons, a month-on-month decrease of 14.84%, and a year-on-year increase of 8.66%. The accumulated export volume of titanium dioxide from January to April 2023 was about 566,000 tons, an increase of 11.72% compared to the same period last year, with an increased export volume of about 59,400 tons.

In April, the top three countries for titanium dioxide exports were India, Brazil, and South Korea, accounting for 15%, 7%, and 7% of total exports respectively.

The average monthly import price of titanium dioxide from January to April was $3620.72 per ton,showing a month-on-month decrease of 3.23%. The average monthly export price of titanium dioxide from January to April 2023 was $2243.81 per ton, showing a month-on-month increase of 2.12%.  

Sponge Titanium

In April 2023, China exported 356.1 tons of sponge titanium, showing a month-on-month decrease of 37.49% and a year-on-year increase of 3.42%. The accumulated export volume of the sponge titanium from January to April was 1370.4 tons, a year-on-year increase of 178.89%, with an increased export volume of about 879 tons.

The top three regions for sponge titanium exports in April 2023 were Russia, Estonia, and Netherlands, accounting for 28%, 25%, and 24% respectively.

In April 2023, China imported 0 tons of sponge titanium, and the accumulated import volume of the sponge titanium was 100.05 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 98.07%, with a decreased import volume of about 5091.48 tons.
