Is polypropylene material toxic when cooking?
PP means polypropylene. Polypropylene lunch boxes are non-toxic and can be used with confidence as long as they are within the specified temperature range. Polypropylene is non-toxic, odorless, with low density, and superior strength, stiffness, hardness, and heat resistance to low-pressure polyethylene. It can be used at around 100 ℃. Polypropylene has good dielectric properties and high-frequency insulation, and is not affected by humidity. However, it becomes brittle at low temperatures, is not wear-resistant, and is prone to aging. Polypropylene is suitable for making general mechanical parts, corrosion-resistant parts, and insulation parts. Common organic solvents such as acids and bases have little effect on it and can be used in tableware.
