May plastic plate import and export analysis

Total PVC Analysis: China's PVC pure powder imports in May 2021 were 20,800 tons, down 77.41% YoY. Export volume was 216,200 tons, up 729.78% YoY and down 12.48% YoY. January-May export volume totaled 972,600 tons and import volume totaled 146,300 tons. The import volume decreased significantly, and the export volume, although the decline in the chain, but still in a high position, substantially higher than the level of the same period last year.

Analysis of PVC exporting countries: According to the latest statistics, China exported 34,688.45 tons of PVC to Vietnam in May 2021, accounting for 16.04% of the total export volume. To Bangladesh 33050.83 tons, accounting for 15.28% of the total export volume. The volume of PVC exported to India decreased significantly.

Total PP analysis: According to customs data, in May 2021, China's PP imports were 341,900 tons, down 46.07% year-on-year and 3.08% YoY, including 230,200 tons of polypropylene in primary forms, 98,300 tons of ethylene-propylene polymers and 13,400 tons of other propylene copolymers in primary forms. The export volume was 182,300 tons, an increase of 565.46% year-on-year and a decrease of 31.67% YoY, including 170,600 tons of polypropylene in primary form, 10,200 tons of ethylene-propylene polymers and 0.16 million tons of other copolymers of propylene in primary form. The export volume increased by 285.30% year-on-year.

Analysis of PP importing countries: According to statistics, China imported 83,300 tons of PP to South Korea in May 2021, accounting for 24% of the total import volume. Singapore 65,900 tons, accounting for 19% of the total import volume. China Taiwan 40.1 thousand tons, accounting for 12% of the total import volume.

PE total analysis: according to customs data, in May 2021 China's PE imports amounted to 1.1259 million tons, down 31.62% year-on-year and 9.03% YoY, of which 545,700 tons of polyethylene in primary shape (specific gravity ≥ 0.94), 221,500 tons of polyethylene in primary shape (specific gravity < 0.94) and linear low density polyethylene in primary shape (specific gravity < 0.94) 358,700 tons. The export volume was 77,500 tons, an increase of 258.90% year-on-year and 6.38% year-on-year, including 42,700 tons of polyethylene of primary shape (specific gravity ≥ 0.94), 20,900 tons of polyethylene of primary shape (specific gravity < 0.94) and 13,900 tons of linear low-density polyethylene of primary shape (specific gravity < 0.94). The volume of imports decreased by 4.16% year-on-year and the volume of exports increased by 113.98%.

Analysis of PE importing countries: According to statistics, China imported 237,500 tons of PE into Iran in May 2021, accounting for 21% of the total import volume. Saudi Arabia 165,400 tons, accounting for 15% of the total import volume. UAE 143,700 tons, accounting for 13% of the total import volume.
