PVC market for the month of October

   During the month of October there’s been massive increase in prices for PVC products. Northern region PVC saw increase of 360-380RMB/ton, Eastern region saw increase in price for 410-440RMB/ton, South Western Region saw the largest increase at 475 RMB/Ton. North Eastern and South Eastern region saw increase of 350RMB/ton, Central region saw increase 400-450 RMB/ton. There are several reasons for the increase of the prices, some of the reasons are as follows:

   There were several times when the entire pore of operations were halted due to large number of products, as well as military exercises near the seas which prevented the flow of shipments. Tianjin port have sent out notifications during September of these issues, during October 1 to October 6, no PVC shall be processed at the port coming from Inner Mongolia and Shannxi  province.

   From October 6 to 11, large number of PVC products have stockpiled at the port, thus shipment have stopped. Another pause occurred at the from October 14 to October 20. The last pause occurred from October 24 to October 28.

   Since the national holidays the prices have been increasing and the supplies have been lowered as a result of the pause of logistics. Downstream PVC customers are still operating but due to the current high prices smaller factories have stopped procurement due to high amount of pressure from the increased prices. There have been an increase in the orders of PVC as well, but the supplies have been capped due to the aforementioned reasons.
