Russia occupies an important position in today's global titanium supply chain. From the perspective of raw materials, the output of titanium sponge in Russia and Ukraine accounts for about 16% of the global total. From the perspective of aviation titanium itself, ~35% of Boeing aviation titanium sources and ~50% of Airbus aviation titanium sources are from Russia. For companies like Embraer and other smaller OEMs, almost 100% of their aviation titanium sources come from Russia. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine caused Europe and the United States to start sanctions against Russia, but to this day, Europe and the United States still have not imposed sanctions on Russia's titanium materials. In the long run, regardless of whether the sanctions are implemented, the reconstruction of the international aviation titanium material supply chain is almost inevitable.

With the world's highest titanium sponge and overall production capacity of titanium materials, from a basic point of view, China is the country best equipped to fill the shortage of aviation titanium materials caused by Russia's vacancy in the reshaping of the global aviation titanium material supply chain. However, my country's titanium industry generally presents the status quo of large volume but insufficient high-end products. This feature is first reflected in the three main links of titanium production. At the same time, the status quo that China's total titanium production is high but high-end products are insufficient is also reflected in the import and export data. Furthermore, the downstream application structure of domestic titanium materials also reflects its structural defects. Therefore, whether it can be truly realized depends on whether domestic titanium material enterprises have a forward-looking layout and whether domestic titanium materials can seize the opportunity to achieve a breakthrough in high-end production capacity.
