DISPERSANT
This product is a white powder or solid granules, non-toxic, and has no side effects on the human body. It is insoluble in most solvents at room temperature, stable in media such as acids, alkalis, and water, and can dissolve in heated hydrochloric acid-based and aromatic hydrocarbon-based additives. It becomes wettable in water at temperatures above 80°C.
Application Directions:
1. Plastics and Resins: This product is primarily used as a lubricant in the production and processing of thermoplastic and thermosetting plastics, rubber, and other polymer materials. When EBS is applied in plastic processing, it can serve as both an internal and external lubricant for various plastics, the most representative being ABS, PS, AS, and rigid PVC, and it can also be applied to PE, PP, PVC, cellulose acetate, Nylon, phenolic resin, etc. For example, adding 1–2% EBS in the production of ABS or PS can increase the resin's melt index, improve material flow, reduce mixing energy consumption, and enhance product gloss. When modifying nylon, adding 0.3–0.5% EBS can increase the transparency and impact resistance of nylon products. Additionally, EBS can also be used as an antistatic agent and brightening agent in resin processing.
2. Rubber: For synthetic resins and rubber such as Vinyl, Polychloroprene, and GRS (SBR), adding 1–3% to their emulsions has good anti-sticking and anti-caking effects.
3. Asphalt: Adding EBS to asphalt can increase its softening point by about 10°C, reduce low-temperature plastic flow, and reduce melt viscosity without making it brittle. It also enhances resistance to water, acids, and saline spray.
4. Pigments and Coatings: Adding 0.5%–2% EBS in the production of plastics and paints improves moisture resistance to saline spray. In masterbatch production, EBS acts as a pigment dispersant. In pigments and coatings, it has a good gloss dispersion effect, increases hardness, and provides good abrasion resistance.
5. Textile Dyeing and Finishing: EBS can be used as a defoamer in dyeing processes and as a permanent water repellent.
6. Release Agent: Adding EBS to phenolic resin used in green sand casting can function as a release agent.
