It appears as a white or yellowish hexagonal crystal powder, odorless, insoluble in water and ethanol, but soluble in acids and releases carbon dioxide; Its relative density is about 2.71, the melting point is 1339°C, and the decomposition temperature is between 825~896.6°C. As a type of calcium carbonate, it has corresponding chemical facilitation, such as reacting with dilute acids to produce bubbles, and exhibits small-size effects, surface effects, and macroscopic quantum tunneling effects due to nanoscale effects。
