The process is simple, and the product has high density and good strength."Extruded granules" refers to the process of extruding powdered ammonium sulfate raw material under high pressure through a mold to form uniform cylindrical or spherical granules, which are then crushed and sieved.The core equipment for extrusion granulation is the two-roll extrusion granulator.

Its primary use (accounting for over 80% of global consumption) is providing essential nitrogen (N) and sulfur (S) for plant growth. It is a fast-acting nitrogen fertilizer suitable for various soil types and crops. Because its nitrogen content (approximately 21%) is lower than that of newer fertilizers like urea, and long-term use may lead to soil acidification, its use as a direct fertilizer in developed countries is declining. However, it remains an important supplementary source of sulfur and nitrogen.
