TITANIUM DIOXIDE
Datongtong HTR-628 Titanium Dioxide is a “coating-dedicated” rutile TiO₂ pigment launched by Yunnan Datongtong Titanium Industry. Positioned as a universal, multi-functional, highly durable white pigment, it is widely used in interior & exterior decorative paints, powder coatings, coil-coating systems, plastics, inks, paper, rubber, leather and many other applications. Its key selling points can be summarized as “Three Highs, Two Easies & One Durability”:
1. High Whiteness
Dry-powder L ≥ 100, b ≤ 1.8, brightness ≥ 94.5 %, imparts a clean, blue-tone “cool white” appearance and effectively masks substrate yellowness.
2. High Hiding Power
Tint-reducing power (Reynolds number) ≥ 1 900, TiO₂ content ≥ 93 %, rutile crystal phase ≥ 98 %, high refractive index; full opacity is achieved with low addition levels, cutting formulation cost.
3. High Dispersibility
Zr/Al composite inorganic coating plus special organic surface treatment; disperses rapidly in water-borne, solvent-borne and powder systems; Hegman fineness ≥ 6.0, residue on 45 µm sieve ≤ 0.02 %, giving smooth, defect-free films.
4. Easy to Use
Oil absorption ≤ 20 g / 100 g, minimal impact on paint viscosity; pH 6.5–8.5, compatible with common resins and additives, broad formulation latitude.
5. Easy to Stabilize
Volatile at 105 °C ≤ 0.5 %, water-soluble matter ≤ 0.5 %, aqueous extract resistivity ≥ 80 Ω·m; tight inter-batch colour control ensures consistent downstream colour.
6. Weather- & Heat-Resistant
The rutile lattice itself has low photo-chemical activity, reinforced by a dense coating layer for excellent light, heat and UV-yellowing resistance, ideal for long-term outdoor exposure.
