Natural Rubber Daily: Natural Rubber Prices Rise, Downstream Buyers Reluctant

On October 20, the STR20 price index in the Qingdao natural rubber market was $2,590/ton, up $15/ton from the previous trading day.
Overseas: Weather in northeastern Thailand improved slightly, and factories' high-price purchasing sentiment cooled; heavy rainfall concentrated in southern and eastern Thailand, affecting the pace of latex output.
Vietnam is in its seasonal peak production cycle, but continuous nighttime rainfall disrupted tapping operations. The Tay Ninh production area was significantly affected by rain, and overall actual output fell short of peak production expectations.
Domestic: No rain in the Yunnan production area yet, prices remain stable, and raw material supply continues to increase.
Weather conditions in the Hainan production area are acceptable, with tapping operations gradually resuming and new rubber output increasing normally on a seasonal basis. Supported by orders and profit factors, local processing plants maintain a premium purchasing stance for raw materials.
Demand Side:
According to reports, some enterprises' operating rate increases are limited, as high raw material prices suppress tire enterprises' production intensity. A few large enterprises maintain acceptable operating conditions, with average finished product inventories, ensuring order delivery and routine product supply.
Futures and Spot Price Overview
Market Outlook
The center of natural rubber spot prices adjusted narrowly upward, with futures trading in a strong oscillation pattern, driving spot quotation centers slightly higher. However, downstream wait-and-see sentiment remains strong, inquiry atmosphere is moderate, and only a small amount of rigid demand transactions occurred during the session. Overall trading was light, with no obvious volume signals in the market. In the short term, strong futures provide some support for spot prices, but insufficient demand-side follow-through may limit the upward space for prices.
