On March 31, 2024, China-Europe Express (Wuhan) successfully opened a new international freight route directly to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. This train is organized and operated by Hubei Port Group Hanou International Company, carrying electronic equipment, household appliances and other goods from Wuhan Central Station. The train will leave the country through the Horgos port, pass through Kazakhstan, and finally cross the Caspian International Transport Corridor through the South Passage, and connect by "railway sea" multimodal transport. The whole journey is expected to take 18 days. As an important node of the interchange of Asia and Europe, Baku has a significant location advantage. The opening of this line is another exploration for Hubei to actively participate in the construction of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor and expand the southbound corridor. In order to ensure the smooth operation of the train, Hanou International cooperated with railways, customs, container companies and other units to optimize the operation process and transportation nodes. At present, China-Europe Express (Wuhan) has 63 stable lines, radiating 124 cities in 42 countries in Eurasia. In the future, the company will continue to optimize the south channel route, improve the quality of operation and service efficiency, in order to support Hubei to build a strategic fulcrum for the rise of central China, and serve the overall situation of the country's opening to the outside world.
