On August 24, China Rescue and Salvage celebrated its 75th anniversary. Over the past 75 years, China's rescue and salvage industry has achieved leapfrog development, forging a uniquely Chinese path for rescue and salvage development. The construction of a modern professional rescue and salvage system has reached new heights, with emergency rescue, salvage efficiency, and handling effectiveness reaching world-class levels.

Over the past 75 years, under the strong leadership of the Party Leadership Group of the Ministry of Transport, the core technical capabilities of rescue and salvage have been comprehensively enhanced, gradually evolving into a modern professional rescue and salvage force that provides full coverage, operates around the clock, integrates sea and river capabilities, responds quickly, and handles situations efficiently. The deployment of rescue and salvage forces effectively covers all coastal waters of China and international search and rescue responsibility areas, successfully rescuing approximately 90,000 people in distress, 5,714 distressed vessels, and salvaging 1,919 sunken ships.

China Rescue and Salvage, focusing on its core function of maritime emergency support, has actively served major national construction projects. It has been deeply involved in maritime construction support for a number of national key projects, such as the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Corridor, overcoming numerous high-difficulty maritime operation challenges. Several core technologies have reached international advanced levels, and capabilities in deep-sea search and rescue, large-tonnage sunken ship salvage, and emergency response in complex sea areas have continued to improve.

In the new era, China Rescue and Salvage is closely aligned with the strategic goal of accelerating the construction of a strong transportation nation. It adheres to the new development philosophy, insists on promoting high-quality development, and continues to advance the construction of a modern rescue and salvage system characterized by full coverage, rapid response, and efficient handling. By the end of the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, China's professional maritime rescue and salvage teams will achieve an emergency response time of less than 90 minutes within 100 nautical miles offshore, and the overall salvage capacity for sunken ships in waters up to 100 meters deep will increase from the current 80,000 tons to 150,000 tons.
