In May 2023, China's natural rubber imports totaled 472,800 tons, a 16.93% decrease month-on-month but a 39.97% increase year-on-year. The main sources were Thailand, Côte d'Ivoire, Malaysia, and Indonesia. Notably, imports of the mixture of natural and synthetic rubber rose by 17.17% month-on-month. The accumulated import volume from January to May reached 2,774,300 tons, marking a 20.68% year-on-year increase.

According to customs data, the final import volume of natural rubber in China in May 2023 was 472,800 tons (including technical classifications, latex, smoked sheets, primary shapes, mixed rubber, and composite rubber), showing a month-on-month decrease of 16.93% and a year-on-year increase of 39.97%. The accumulated import volume from January to May was 2,774,300 tons, showing an accumulated increase of 20.68% year-on-year.

Technical Classifications Natural Rubber

The final import volume of technical classifications natural rubber in May 2023 is 156,400 tons, which is a month-on-month decrease of 11.01% and a year-on-year increase of 73.897%.

From January to May 2023,China's accumulated import volume was 752,100 tons, showing a year-on-year increase of 21.84%.

Among them, the main import source countries are Thailand, Côte d'Ivoire, Malaysia and Indonesia, accounting for 37.04%, 36.74%, 11% and 9.91% of the total import volume in May respectively, in which Thailand ranked first.

Natural Latex

The final import volume of the natural latex in May 2023 is 19,000 tons, which is a month-on-month decrease of 48.84% and a year-on-year decrease of 46.89%.

From January to May 2023, China's accumulated import volume was 189,300 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 4.71%.

Among them, the main import source countries are Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, accounting for 83.78%, 12.45% and 2.58% of the total import volume in June respectively, in which Thailand ranked first.

Natural Latex Smoked Sheet

The final import volume of the natural latex smoked sheet in May 2023 was 6,000 tons, which is a month-on-month decrease of 20.9% and a year-on-year decrease of 52.19%.

From January to May 2023,China's accumulated import volume was 58,100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 40.37%.

Among them, the main import source countries are Thailand, Myanmar and Vietnam, accounting for 42.8%, 26.67% and 20.39% of the total import volume in June respectively.

The Mixture of Natural Rubber and Synthetic Rubber

The final import volume of the mixture of natural rubber and synthetic rubber in May 2023 is 278,000 tons, which is a month-on-month increase of 17.17% and a year-on-year increase of 48.11%.

From January to May 2023,China's accumulated import volume was 1,697,200 tons, a year-on-year increase of 36.28%.

Among them, the main import source countries are Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia, accounting for 58.78%, 21.92%, and 11.59% of the total import volume in May respectively.
