BASF expands its Ultramid? PA and Ultradur? PBT production capacity in Malaysia

BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd will boost its Ultramid polyamide and Ultradur polybutylene terephthalate production by 5,000 tonnes per year. The expansion at its Pasir Gudang site is set for completion in Q2 2023, addressing strong demand in the ASEAN engineering plastics market, projected to grow at 5% annually until 2030.
BASF (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd will expand the production capacity of its Ultramid? polyamide (PA) and Ultradur? polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) products by 5,000 tonnes per year. The debottlenecking of BASF's production site in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia is scheduled to be completed in the second quarter of 2023.

The production site in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia was established in 1999 and the engineering plastics compounding plant produces Ultramid? PA and Ultradur? PBT.
Ultramid ? PA and Ultradur ? PBT are used in automotive applications, the electrical and electronic sector, industrial products and consumer goods.
