Usage Instructions:
· This series of products belongs to thermoplastic solid acrylic resins, which can be completely dissolved in alkaline solutions.
The solubility viscosity and solid content in alkaline solutions vary with different molecular weights. For molecular weights around 3000, the recommended dissolution content is 35-40%; for those around 8000, it is 30-35%; and for those around 12000, it is 25-28%. If a higher content of resin solution is needed, an appropriate amount of anhydrous ethanol can be added to the solution.
Commonly used amines include ammonia water and monoamine. Ammonia water has lower cost but stronger odor and lower dissolution viscosity. Monoamine has moderate cost, less odor, higher dissolution viscosity, and deeper color. Customers should choose appropriately based on actual conditions.
Heating Dissolution: First, mix water and monoethanolamine (or ammonia water), start stirring, then add solid resin. If low viscosity and high solid content (30~40%) are required, add 3% ethanol. Heat to 60-70°C and dissolve for 3-4 hours until completely dissolved, with pH value measured at 8.5-9.0.
High-speed Dispersion: First, add water and monoethanolamine into the mixing tank, start stirring at 1000 revolutions per minute, then add solid resin. After adding, adjust the speed to 1500 revolutions per minute and stir for 4 hours. Measure pH at 8.5-9 until completely dissolved.
Monoethanolamine dissolution is suitable for making water-based ink grinding pastes. The resin has good dispersibility, strong wetting property, easy dispersion, but slightly lower water resistance. Pure ammonia water dissolution is suitable for varnish (with pH controlled at 8-8.5), and its water resistance is better than pure monoethanolamine.
The ratio of ammonia for dissolving low-ammonia-odor resins: Calculation method: Total monoethanolamine = Solid content × 0.25; 80% of total monoethanolamine + 20% ammonia water (25% concentration). Reference ratio for ammonia required for dissolving solids: Monoethanolamine content = Solid content × 0.25; 25% ammonia water content = Solid content × 0.35. Reference formula for solid dissolution: Water 62.5, Solid 30, Monoamine 6, Ammonia water 1.5.
