Shandong Ocean Shipping "SMC KLANG" Joins Southeast Asia Route Layout
On March 14, the "SMC KLANG" vessel sounded its horn and set sail from Qingdao Port, officially joining the Southeast Asia route layout of Shandong Ocean Shipping, embarking on a new journey. This is the second international feeder vessel to be operated under the "Shan Port Express" brand, following the "SMC QINGDAO" vessel. The ship is 116.95 meters long, with a beam of 16.5 meters and a depth of 7.95 meters, with a rated capacity of 376 TEU. The successive deployment of the two vessels marks a further intensification of Shandong Ocean Shipping's capacity layout on the Southeast Asia route, continuously enhancing its service capability in the RCEP region.
According to the plan, this time the "SMC KLANG" vessel will sail directly to Port Klang in Malaysia, jointly constructing two premium feeder routes with the "SMC QINGDAO" vessel: "Malaysia Klang-Bangladesh Chittagong" and "Malaysia Klang-Indonesia Belawan." Both routes will operate with stable schedules, complementing each other to form a "twin route" pattern that covers Southeast Asia and radiates to key nodes in South Asia, providing efficient and reliable feeder logistics services to customers along the route.
The departure of the "SMC KLANG" vessel is a specific action by Shandong Ocean Shipping to support the construction of a "first-class supply chain comprehensive service system relying on the port" around the strategic deployment of Shandong Port, and is another achievement in actively integrating into the "Belt and Road" construction and deepening the Southeast Asian market. With the addition of new capacity and the opening of new routes, Shandong Ocean Shipping's route density and service level in the Southeast Asia region will be further strengthened, providing import and export trade customers with more stable and efficient logistics options, assisting Shandong Port in creating a new highland of open cooperation facing the RCEP region.
