IBI Pakistan Digital Economy & Business Forum Successfully Held

On the afternoon of September 8, the IBI Pakistan Digital Economy & Business Forum was held at Metropark Hotel Yingkun Beijing as a parallel session of IBI’s 99 Global Business Linkage Festival and the Fengtai Opening-up Development Conference. Nearly 200 representatives from Pakistan’s political community, Chinese and Pakistani businesses, and industry organizations attended the event. Discussions focused on manufacturing and industrial cooperation, industrial collaboration under the Belt and Road Initiative, and business matchmaking.
The forum opened with remarks by Liu Junzhai, Director of IBI and Founder of TDD-Global, and Qadir, General Manager of Global Cross-Border Strategy at IBI and Vice Chairman of TDD-Global. Keynote speakers included Pakistani Senator Rana Mahmood-ul-Hassan; Zulfiqar Younus, Additional Secretary in the Government of Pakistan and Senior Advisor to CVF–V20; Noman Ahmed, Chief Financial Officer of Din Industries; Shahid Feroz, Chairman of OBOR; Salim Vali Muhammad, Chairman of the Pakistan Chemicals & Dyes Merchants Association; and Wang Li, IMGC’s Representative in China.

Liu Junzhai noted that IBI Pakistan Digital Economy Headquarters was inaugurated and began operations in Islamabad’s Special Technology Zone on May 14, 2026. Its activities span trade, agriculture, cold chain services, mineral resources, digital infrastructure, and other sectors of the real economy. Clear milestones have been established for all projects, and implementation is progressing steadily. The forum featured targeted matchmaking across multiple areas, with IBI drawing on its portfolio of industrial digital platforms to provide end-to-end support for cross-border cooperation between Chinese and Pakistani enterprises. She emphasized that China–Pakistan industrial cooperation should be grounded in long-term mutual benefit, equality, and mutual trust, with shared risks and a sustained commitment to practical collaboration. The opportunities presented by the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor should support the continued expansion of bilateral industrial cooperation.

In his welcome address, Qadir warmly welcomed the Pakistani guests from across government, business, and industry. He highlighted Pakistan’s position as a key country along the Belt and Road and a core partner in the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor. IBI attaches great importance to its presence in the Pakistani market and has established a national headquarters and a local service team. He expressed the hope that the forum would provide an opportunity to work with Pakistan’s public and private sectors to deepen practical cooperation in the digital economy, industrial investment, and supply chain collaboration, while jointly benefiting from the development of the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor.
During the keynote session, speakers examined the potential for China–Pakistan cooperation in light of policy advantages and current industry conditions. Government representatives outlined the broad prospects for bilateral industrial collaboration, highlighting the longstanding friendship between the two countries, a favorable business environment, digital economic development, and climate-resilient infrastructure. They also explored approaches to strengthening industrial connectivity under the Belt and Road Initiative.

Representatives from businesses and industry organizations presented market resources and cooperation opportunities in Pakistan’s manufacturing, chemicals and dyes, and industrial support sectors, introducing new models and approaches for cross-border industrial cooperation. Chinese business representatives—including Ju Liyan, Chair of Shandong Binyin Group; Meng Ting, Representative of Tianjin Dingfeng Group; and Xu Maochuan, Representative of Wenzhou Digital Intelligence and New Energy Group—shared their companies’ development strategies and cooperation plans for expanding their presence in Pakistan and building cross-border industrial operations.
During the business matchmaking session, Chinese and Pakistani enterprises held targeted, one-to-one discussions on bulk commodity trade, manufacturing investment projects, collaborative innovation in the digital economy, and cross-border supply chain development. Participants matched supply and demand, refined the details of potential partnerships, and reached preliminary understandings on several opportunities for cooperation. The session generated promising business leads and encouraged active exchanges among participants.
The forum marked another important step in IBI’s efforts to deepen digital economy and industrial cooperation between China and Pakistan, while developing cross-border business for industrial clusters as its third engine of growth. Looking ahead, we will continue to build on the strengths of our industrial internet platforms, supported by our Pakistan headquarters and two-way service network connecting the two countries. We will help more companies from China’s industrial clusters enter the Pakistani market and bring more high-quality Pakistani products to China, contributing through industrial cooperation to a closer China–Pakistan community with a shared future.
