Water-based Gravure Yellow Ink (Surface Printing)
Process Instructions for Use
- Dilute the ink with methanol to the appropriate on-machine viscosity (for products with special water resistance requirements, add 0.5~1% curing agent 2099). Print using the water-based ink plate roller that meets the above requirements. Set the oven temperature to 65-66℃ for PE or CPP substrates, and 75-80℃ for OPP or PE substrates. Maximize the air volume, and determine the printing speed based on ensuring complete drying of the ink.
- Once printing starts and the screen plate comes into contact with the water-based ink, the pressure roller must be lifted immediately during temporary shutdowns in the printing process, and the idle rotation of the plate roller must be started simultaneously. If the machine is shut down for more than 20 seconds without movement, there will be a risk of plate clogging. For slight plate clogging, under the idle rotation of the screen roller, repeatedly scrub with a high-density sponge block dipped in methanol until the clogging is completely removed.
- Implement humidity control in the workshop. Before starting the machine, confirm whether the oven temperature and air volume have reached the preset values. Closely monitor the actual drying effect during the speed-up process to ensure sufficient drying.
- The internal circulation device with reduced air volume and increased concentration is not suitable for water-based ink printing. Products printed with water-based ink will have significantly improved adhesion after natural curing in a dry environment.
- Ensure that the moisture in the water-based ink printed products is completely released, the resin is fully cured, and the adhesion meets the requirements before proceeding with subsequent processing.
Precautions
- Immediately lift the roller and start the idle rotation of the plate roller during temporary shutdowns.
- A small amount of remaining ink in the ink tray needs to be sealed and stored separately. Later, after filtering impurities through a filter screen, it can be mixed into new ink for use. Calculate the usage amount carefully when adding the curing agent. The ink mixed with the curing agent must be sealed and packaged separately and stored at a low temperature of 1-10℃.
