Recently, the Beibu Gulf Port North Seaport Area Tieshan East Port Area No. 4 and No. 5 Berth Project was successfully approved by the port shoreline of the Ministry of Transport, and the project construction has entered a substantive stage. The project plans to invest 4.212 billion yuan to build two 200000-ton bulk cargo berths with a designed annual throughput of 19 million tons and a construction period of about 24 months. Beihai Shawei Wharf Co., Ltd., a wholly-owned subsidiary of Beibu Gulf Port Co., Ltd., is responsible for the investment and construction. The project mainly loads and unloads coal, iron ore and aluminum ore, aiming to serve the port industry of Longgang New District (including Tieshan Port Donggang Industrial Park and Yulin Longtan Industrial Park) and meet the transportation needs of key enterprises such as Oriental Hope and Huayou Holdings. The project will effectively fill the gap of 200000-ton berths in Tieshan East Port area, enhance the bulk cargo transportation capacity of Beihai Port, provide support for the industrial development of Longgang New area, and help Guangxi speed up the construction of Beibu Gulf international gateway port and international hub seaport. The preliminary work of the project has received strong support from relevant departments of Yulin City, Beihai City and the autonomous region, and the follow-up will be accelerated to start construction as soon as possible.
