According to Qingdao Customs data, in the first two months of 2026, Qingdao Port's sea-rail intermodal container volume increased by 10.6 year-on-year, reaching 512000 million TEUs, maintaining the first place in China's ports for 11 consecutive years. As the core mode of international logistics, sea-rail intermodal transport has realized the seamless connection between railway and maritime transport and efficient customs clearance. Its advantages are mainly reflected in the low cost and short cycle in long-distance transportation. According to enterprise feedback, the cost of single-box logistics can be reduced by about 15% compared with the "road + sea transportation" mode. Qingdao Port has built a three-dimensional network of "inland port + sea-rail intermodal transport + international train" and cooperated with the customs to implement the "direct entry and direct exit" operation mode, so that the goods can be transported within 2 hours on average after arriving at the port, and the punctuality rate of the train exceeds 99%. As the largest foreign trade port in northern China, Qingdao Port has nearly 240 foreign trade routes, serving more than half of the export goods of inland provinces such as Henan and Shaanxi. It has built 56 inland ports and opened 86 sea-rail intermodal trains, continuing to consolidate its international Logistics hub status.
