Recently, the use of the port's deep-water coastline for the No. 0 container berth project in Chuanshan Port Area of Ningbo Zhoushan Port was officially approved by the Ministry of Transport, adding 250 meters of deep-water coastline. The berth plans to build a 30000-ton container berth with a designed annual throughput of 504000 TEUs. After completion, it will effectively meet the continuous growth of container transportation demand in the hinterland and provide hardware support for the improvement of container handling capacity in Chuanshan Port Area. As the world's largest port in terms of cargo throughput, Ningbo Zhoushan Port is facing the challenge of long-term full-capacity operation of container terminals. This time, tapping the potential of the mature core port area is the key path to solve the lack of capacity and cultivate new growth poles. The approval of berth 0 enables the container terminal in Chuanshan Port Area to expand westward again on the basis of the existing large-scale advantages. In the future, it will efficiently link with the already built berths 1 to 11, release the cooperative operation potential of the berth group, improve the turnover efficiency and the flexibility of loading and unloading large ships, and help its "ten million container class" single terminal to continue to operate at a high level. In addition, the shoreline construction of other port areas of Ningbo Zhoushan Port, such as Liuheng Port Area and Zhenhai Port Area, is also advancing simultaneously. Through continuous expansion and intensive use of deep-water shoreline resources, it is forging stronger hardware strength and accelerating its progress towards a world-class strong port.
