The second Chinese-made large cruise ship "Ida Huacheng" was docked in Shanghai.
On March 20, the second large Chinese-made cruise ship "Aida·Huacheng" (H1509) was launched from the dock at Shanghai Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding Co., Ltd., under China State Shipbuilding Corporation, fully entering the dock testing phase, and is expected to undergo sea trials mid-year and be completed and delivered by the end of the year.
Given the high complexity of large cruise ship technology and stringent design and construction standards, the implementation process faces many challenges. Therefore, conducting rigorous technical verification of key systems while the cruise ship is afloat is a core necessary step to solidify the overall safety of the entire ship.

Since the early morning of March 14, "Aida·Huacheng" has commenced a 7-day operation involving water injection, floating, relocation, and dock launching. During this period, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding conducted a tilt test to measure the weight and center of gravity of the entire ship. The design and development results were validated, the test results met expectations, and the weight and center of gravity data were controllable.
It is reported that "Aida·Huacheng" is equipped with 18 lifeboats and 2 rescue boats, ensuring safety for all personnel. Through individual decoupling tests and dock cruising tests of all lifeboats on the left and right sides of the cruise ship, Waigaoqiao Shipbuilding conducted full-condition functional verification of all lifeboats and rescue boats on the ship, providing assurance for subsequent safe operations.
After a series of tests, "Aida·Huacheng" meets all technical requirements for dock launching and can enter the new phase of dock mooring tests. As of now, the overall project progress exceeds 94%, interior completion is at 81.9%, testing is at 68.3%, and pre-inspection rates for public areas, cabins, and key systems have all surpassed planned targets ahead of schedule.
"Aida·Huacheng" has a total tonnage of 141,900 tons, a total length of 341 meters, and a width of 37.2 meters. The entire ship is laid with over 4,700 kilometers of cables, has nearly 40,000 square meters of public area, and integrates thousands of systems, over 20,000 sets of key equipment, and more than 25 million parts. Compared to the first ship, the overall construction efficiency of "Aida·Huacheng" has significantly improved by 20%.
From single ship construction to industry empowerment, from technological breakthroughs to ecological construction, the development practice of two large domestic cruise ships not only solidifies the enterprise's core capabilities of independent control but also fully unleashes the strong cluster effect of the cruise industry.
The Shanghai branch of the Changhang Public Security Bureau has moved the security defense line forward to the production front line. From safety briefings before shifts to anti-fraud micro-classes during work breaks, police use "fragmented" legal education to protect workers' "wallets"; a "station point" for mediation is set up at the shipyard, successfully resolving 5 conflicts and disputes this year, achieving "no conflicts leave the cabin, no disputes overnight." Meanwhile, layered control is implemented in the waters surrounding the cruise ship, with high-frequency patrols to prevent "three-no" vessels from intruding, and coordinated handling of drone "black flights," building a comprehensive safety barrier for "Aida·Huacheng" to leave the dock.
