Q
what is warmer wool or polyester
When comparing the warmth provided by wool versus polyester, wool generally comes out on top. Wool, a natural fiber obtained from sheep and other animals, has an excellent ability to retain heat, making it warmer than polyester, a synthetic fiber. Wool's natural crimps and bends create tiny air pockets when woven into fabric, providing superior insulation. These air pockets trap body heat, keeping the wearer warm in cold conditions. In contrast, polyester does rely on its synthetic fibers for insulation, which can be effective but doesn't offer the same level of warmth and breathability as wool. Polyester, however, dries faster and is more water-resistant than wool, making it preferable in wet conditions. Still, for pure warmth and natural breathability, wool has the edge. It's also worth noting that wool's warmth doesn't diminish significantly when wet, unlike many synthetic fibers.
