Carrying Forward the Red Heritage and Drawing Strength for Progress — IBI Party Branch Holds Party History Education Activity in Nanjing to Mark the 105th Anniversary of the Founding of the Communist Party of China

To thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, continuously consolidate and deepen the education campaign on “remaining true to our original aspiration and keeping our mission firmly in mind,” further strengthen Party members’ sense of Party spirit and Party membership, temper the work style of the Party member team, enhance their overall competence, transform the original aspiration and mission into a drive for enterprising progress, continuously strengthen the cohesion, centripetal force and combat effectiveness of the Party branch, and fully give play to the vanguard and exemplary role of Party members, the Party Branch of IBI organized some Party members to visit Nanjing for a Party history education and study activity themed “Carrying Forward the Red Heritage and Drawing Strength for Progress” on the occasion of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. Through visits to red historical sites and remembrance of revolutionary history, Party members tempered their Party spirit, reaffirmed their original aspiration, and gathered strength for continued progress.

Remembering Revolutionary Martyrs, Reviewing the Party Admission Oath, and Strengthening the Foundation of Faith

Members of the Party branch visited the solemn and dignified Yuhuatai Martyrs Cemetery in Nanjing to deeply commemorate the revolutionary martyrs who heroically sacrificed their lives for national independence and the liberation of the people. The evergreen pines and cypresses expressed deep mourning, while the towering monument reflected the original aspiration. Standing in neat formation, all participants paid solemn tribute and, with profound reverence, presented flowers to the revolutionary martyrs of Yuhuatai. A solemn flower-laying ceremony was held to honor the heroic deeds of the martyrs and carry forward their spirit.

After the flower-laying ceremony, the Party members faced the bright red Party flag, raised their right fists, and reviewed the Party admission oath. Their sonorous and powerful oath echoed for a long time, reminding them of their original aspiration in joining the Party and their solemn commitment as Party members. This further strengthened their ideals and convictions and tempered their political character of loyalty and responsibility.

Afterwards, the Party members visited the Yuhuatai Martyrs Memorial Hall in an orderly manner. Through precious historical materials and physical exhibits, they looked back on the extraordinary years in which revolutionary martyrs remained steadfast in their faith and sacrificed their lives for righteousness. They deeply appreciated the noble spirit of the Yuhuatai martyrs, who dedicated themselves selflessly and remained committed to serving the country, and received a profound education in red Party spirit.

Tracing Red Footprints, Carrying Forward the Revolutionary Spirit, and Staying True to the Original Aspiration and Mission

After leaving Yuhuatai, the Party members visited the Meiyuan Xincun Memorial Hall for study. This site is an important historical location of the Kuomintang-Communist negotiations in Nanjing and a red position where the older generation of proletarian revolutionaries upheld their faith and persevered in struggle.

With the detailed explanation of the guide, the Party members gained an in-depth understanding of the glorious journey of the CPC delegation, represented by Comrade Zhou Enlai, from 1946 to 1947. In a complex and severe situation, they remained true to their original aspiration, fought with courage and determination, and devoted themselves to the country and the people. The participants deeply appreciated the noble qualities of the older generation of revolutionaries, including loyalty to the Party, selfless dedication, courage in struggle, and mastery in struggle. They also gained a profound understanding of the hardships and hard-won achievements of the Party’s century-long history, further strengthening their ideals and convictions to listen to the Party and follow the Party.

In the afternoon, the Party members visited the Sun Yat-sen Mausoleum to pay tribute to the resting place of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the pioneer of China’s revolution, and to reflect on his broad vision of “the world belongs to the public” and his lofty ideal of saving the nation and its people. By looking back on the exploration of national rejuvenation in modern Chinese history, the participants gained a deeper understanding of the historical inevitability of the Communist Party of China’s century-long struggle and further strengthened their conviction and determination to unswervingly follow the Party and unite in shouldering their mission.

Remembering the History of Suffering, Drawing Strength for Progress, and Shouldering the Responsibilities of the Times

On the following day, the Party members visited the Memorial Hall of the Victims in Nanjing Massacre by Japanese Invaders to receive patriotic and warning education. In a solemn and heavy atmosphere, they stopped to view historical materials, physical remains, and documentary footage, deeply revisiting the painful years when the country was devastated and the people suffered immensely, and mourning the 300,000 victims.

Scene after scene of painful history and passage after passage of heavy historical memory gave all Party members present a profound spiritual education. Everyone deeply remembered the historical lesson that “a backward nation is vulnerable to aggression, and only self-strengthening can ensure a firm foothold.” This further strengthened their patriotic feelings, sense of responsibility, and firm belief in learning from history, cherishing peace, and forging ahead.

This Party history education and study activity in Nanjing was an important Party-building activity organized by the IBI Party Branch to celebrate the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China. It was also an immersive and on-site exercise in Party spirit. Through this activity, participating Party members upheld their original aspiration through remembrance, drew strength from the study of history, and shouldered their mission through reflection. The activity effectively enhanced Party members’ Party spirit and political literacy, and further strengthened the cohesion and combat effectiveness of the Party organization.
