Foreign–China Salon on Green Cooperation and Trade Facilitation for Agricultural and Food Products Held at IBI Digital Economy Headquarters

On the afternoon of June 17, 2026, the“Foreign–China Salon on Green Cooperation and Trade Facilitation for Agricultural and Food Products,” hosted by the China Customs Brokers Association, was successfully held at the IBI Digital Economy Headquarters in Beijing.

The event was attended by Bai Fengchuan, President of the China Customs Brokers Association and Standing Council Member of the International Federation of Customs Brokers Associations; Wang Ting, Board Director, Senior Vice President, and Co-founder of IBI; Zhao Minggang, Senior Expert of the China Customs Brokers Association Think Tank and former Deputy Director of the Standards and Regulations Center of the General Administration of Customs; as well as diplomatic representatives including Nebiyu Mohamed Bogale, Minister-Counsellor of the Embassy of Ethiopia in China; Benjamin Roffey, Agricultural Counsellor of the Embassy of Canada in China; Najibah Binti Mohamad Nor, Agricultural Counsellor of the Embassy of Malaysia in China; and Komil Kadyrov, Customs Counsellor of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in China. Participants jointly discussed green trade in agricultural and food products and the resilience of global supply chains.

In his opening remarks, President Bai noted that trade in agricultural and food products constitutes a vital component of international trade. The China Customs Brokers Association will continue to advance customs clearance facilitation reforms, strengthen international cooperation, and provide institutional support for the high-quality development of agricultural and food trade.

Representing the host organization, Wang Ting delivered a keynote speech, stating that IBI will leverage its platform capabilities and technological advantages to actively promote the green transformation and digitalization of agricultural and food trade, contributing to the development of an open and sustainable international agri-food trade system.

During the thematic presentation session, Zhao Minggang provided a systematic analysis of China’s agricultural and food import and export trade in terms of scale, structure, market distribution, and development trends. He also put forward forward-looking recommendations on optimizing trade structure, improving customs clearance efficiency, and strengthening quality supervision.

Xu Xiaotian, Deputy Chief Representative of the World Resources Institute China Office and Director of the Food & Natural Resources and Sustainable Investment Program, delivered a keynote speech titled “Promoting Green Trade in Commodities and Supply Chain Resilience.”

Subsequently, diplomatic representatives including Nebiyu Mohamed Bogale, Benjamin Roffey, Najibah Binti Mohamad Nor, and Komil Kadyrov shared their respective countries’ practical experiences and future prospects in agricultural trade cooperation with China.

During the Q&A session, participants engaged in in-depth and pragmatic discussions on key topics such as mutual recognition of green standards for agricultural and food products, cross-border customs facilitation measures, and regional supply chain coordination.

The successful convening of this salon established a high-level and professional dialogue platform for promoting green, efficient, and sustainable development in international agricultural and food trade. Participants unanimously agreed that, in the face of new circumstances and opportunities, deepening international cooperation and jointly advancing green transformation represent an essential pathway toward a higher-quality and more sustainable future for the global agri-food industry.
